I got the problem of formating a column as TEXT .
The following example does not work since it still treat the column
as Number. I want to treat the column as a TEXT only. I do not want to
add any format checking on it. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks, Donna

How do you import those text? Is it in a CSV file? If yes, please try:
workbook.ConvertNumericData = false;
workbook.Open("C:\\myfile.csv",FileFormatType.CSV);
If you use code to input those data, please try:
cell.PutValue("00123456");

With above code, you can input text correctly, right?
Now you find the triangles in formulas. That isn't an error but a prompt of MS Excel. Please send me your xls file so I can check if I can find a better solution for you.
