Question regarding MSI vs. DLL Installation

I am in the process of documenting the process for installing Aspose.Cells and Aspose.Slides SSRS rendering extensions for our environment.

I was curious about running the MSI vs. just dropping in DLL's Is it necessary to run the MSI installer? It seems like, particularly for Cells, that it just places the DLL's in a directory where you would manually have to copy it into the ReportServer\bin directory anyway

When documenting a fresh install of the SSRS Rendering extensions, is it necessary to run through the MSI or can the DLLs and License files simply be placed in the bin directory?
