I have very unusual question! Could you, please clarify your versioning strategy?
Is is safe to use hotfixed versions like 7.1.2.6 on production environment?
Is 7.1.2.6 version based on 7.1.2 + only bugfixes? Or this version contains both bugfixes + new functionality and enhancements (which is kinda risky)?
So is it safe to use hotfix versions(7.1.2.6) like normal ones(7.1.3)?

Yes, it is completely safe to use the hotfix versions e.g v7.1.2.6, it contains all the functionality (bug fixes, new features, enhancements etc.) + off course v7.1.2.
You may use this fix (v7.1.2.6) as long as you wish without any problem, it will behave like an official release in your production server. it contains all the full fledged features/functionality of v7.1.2 till current fixed version. It is an intermediate kind of version which is provided as a fix against some bugs and new features/enhancements. Normally, a bug fix version is posted in the support forums for our clients. Moreover, it is to be noted that our next official release (i.e. v7.2.x coming soon) would include all the functionality of the previous fixes (including this one too).
