"could not install or configure" error

Message : “could not install or configure Aspose.Words for Reporting Services” error. I got this same error on 2 different systems that have RS up and running… where can I get more details on what is happening here?

Thank you for reporting the issue to us. Could you please specify what version and edition of SQL Server you use?

SQL Server 2005 SP2. Install attempted on both an XPSP2 and a Win2003 Standard SP2… both systems have a full Reporting Services install and report manager operates fine.

also… on Win2003 it was SQL Standard edition. On the XP box it was the Developer edition.

Hmm, then it must be a bug in the MSI installer. Could you please install the product manually meanwhile as described here:
https://docs.aspose.com/words/reportingservices/installing-on-the-server-manually/
Also, to let me determine the cause of the error, please tell me the following:

  1. What if the version of the product you try to install?
  2. Do you have any versions of Visual Studio installed on the target machines?
