Re: Can you lock down text?

Hi,

This is very useful... BUT (theres always a but) when using this type of lock it is then asking me for a password when I open the document and try and turn form protection off and of course I have no idea what the password is since I never set one.

When I click the 'protect form' button while manually editing a document it doesn't ask for nor require a password, it just seems to essentially change the mode of the form but anyone can switch from protected mode to non-protected mode. This is really what I want to be able to set from Aspose.Words.

Is this possible?

Cheers,

Dale

Hi

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Thanks for your request. If document does not have a protection password, Protect method assigns a random password that makes it impossible to unprotect the document in Microsoft Word

You should use another overload of this method. Please see the following link for more information.

http://www.aspose.com/documentation/file-format-components/aspose.words-for-.net-and-java/aspose.words.document.protect_overload_2.html

Hope this helps.

Best regards.
