Re: Word to PDF random Invalid Cast Exception

Do you have an ETA for a fix? We have the same issue (and it generates random exceptions including the one listed above) when we call update fields method.

We are unable to replicate the issue in a older version of Aspose (14.10.0.0). We are planning on rolling back our Aspose word. Can you confirm if this would work as a temporary solution for this issue?

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that we do not provide support for older versions of Aspose components. We always encourage our customers to use the latest version of Aspose components as it contains newly introduced features, enhancements and fixes to the issues that were reported earlier.

Regarding ETA of WORDSNET-13826, we try our best to deal with every customer request in a timely fashion, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a delivery date to every customer issue. Our developers work on issues on a first come, first served basis. We feel this is the fairest and most appropriate way to satisfy the needs of the majority of our customers.

Could you please attach the following resources here for testing?

  • Your input Word document.
  • Please create a standalone console application (source code without compilation errors) that helps us to reproduce your problem on our end and attach it here for testing.

As soon as you get these pieces of information ready, we'll start investigation into your issue and provide you more information. Thanks for your cooperation.

PS: To attach these resources, please zip them and Click 'Reply' button that will bring you to the 'reply page' and there at the bottom you can include any attachments with that post by clicking the 'Add/Update' button.

Test program attached. Thanks.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for sharing the detail. We have tested the scenario and have managed to reproduce the same issue at our side. For the sake of correction, we have logged this problem in our issue tracking system as WORDSNET-13979. You will be notified via this forum thread once this issue is resolved.

We apologize for your inconvenience.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-13979) have been fixed in this Aspose.Words for .NET 16.10.0 update and this Aspose.Words for Java 16.10.0 update.
