Save as HTML: col elements without surrounding colgroup

Using version 8.3.0.0.

When saving to HTML, Aspose Cells seems to generate elements without the surrounding element. As a result, in some browsers, the elements are ignored.

It would be nice if the generated HTML was valid, having a containing the elements.

Hi,

Thanks for providing some details.

Well, Aspose.Cells follows Ms Excel standards and specifications which it should follow. We think if you could open your template file into MS Excel manually and save it as as Web page (HTML), you will also see those tags/ attributes without element while viewing the source of the HTML file, so Aspose.Cells works the same way as MS Excel does.

FYI, the output HTML files are means to open either in MS Excel or in IE browser type only as per Microsoft recommendations. If you still think re-saving the file to HTML by MS Excel gives your desired elements/ attributes, give us the template files, we will check it soon.

Thank you

I understand your approach to stay as close as possible to the HTML generated by Excel itself.

However, in this case, the absence of the surrounding seems to mess up the correct rendering of the exported Excel content in Google Chrome.

Perhaps it would be possible it add the colgroup, if it does not affect the rendering of the content in IE?
