Saving docx as ODT loses headers

Hi,

I’m attempting to save a docx as an odt file. Unfortunately the headers are lost in the process.

Are there any specific saveoptions that should be used to save everything?

Please see attached.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your inquiry. But when you save this DOCX to ODT format using Microsoft Word 2013, you’ll observe the same behavior. Please see attached Microsoft Word 2013 generated ODT document. So, this seems to be an expected behavior as latest version of Aspose.Words 15.6.0 produces better ODT than Microsoft Word 2013 in this case. If we can help you with anything else, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,

Sorry but that sounds like a brush off excuse rather than an explanation. As there are previous posts in this forum where people have had similar issues losing the headers saving as ODF (see this from back in 2010 Header/Footer lost after saving in ODT) and a fix was made.

Therefore there must be support for headers and footers… Saying this is expected behaviour is not what I’ve grown to expect from you guys, usually you’ve been very helpful.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your inquiry. What editor do you use for viewing Aspose.Words generated ODT files on your end (e.g. MS Word, OpenOffice Writer)? Please see attached screenshots and highlight (encircle) the problematic areas in Aspose.Words generated ODT file for our reference. Generated '15.6.0.odt' document is also attached.

Best regards,
