I am having a performance issue working with Aspose.Slides in .NET. Specifically I am creating a PowerPoint presentation using Aspose.Slides 14.1.2.0 and calling: “deck.Save(stream, SaveFormat.Ppt);” This one line takes an average of 10 seconds to execute. In my scenario I have only 3 slides in the PowerPoint deck.
In the past I have build very large PowerPoint decks in previous versions saving to PPT format and it was very fast. Is there something I should be doing to optimize the deck serialization to a stream?

It seems to indicate that the performance will get much better in the unified version. Is V14 apart of this unified version? Where can I find information about that?

Our application was very large with many dependencies. It took us some time to narrow down the problem and build a sample demo of the problem in action. We discovered the performance issues seem to be purely related to the styling of “Portions” of a paragraph individually. If we do not use styled portions the serialization time is dramatically less (60% roughly).
In the attached demo, there is a console application that opens a blank slide and resaves it. If you play with the bit at the top of the program.cs file to “EnablePortionCloning” you will be able to see the recorded time difference in the console output from a .NET Stopwatch.
This problem seems to get increasingly worse with larger PPTX documents and more portion styling. In our case we have the potential to have PPTX documents as large as 150 slides, and any performance gain possible we need to take advantage of.
Please advise how we can make this performance better.

I need to make plans for the future of our application based on this particular issue. Do you have any indication has to when this might be fixed and released (in terms of days, weeks or months)?
Ideally I don’t want to change my codebase and just plugin in updated assemblies when you have it fixed. However, if that won’t be possible or will take some time I maybe need to start altering and adapting my code to not take advantage of individual portion styling.

Hi,
The same occurs in JAVA platform. Not just for some but for many of them.
I tried to instanciate a Presentacion based on new Presentation(new FileOutputStream(myFile)) for each PPTX file.
Result: more than one minute for each file. Ugly. Not for production.
Aspose Slides version 15.7.0.
Please help.

I request you to please share the sample presentation/presentations along with machine, operating system and Java specifications on your end. Please also share the nature of application, working sample project and statistics achieved on your end.
