Some troubles Saving data in Mpp extension file

Hi, I'm working with Aspose.Task v. 4.5 in its demo version and I have some troubles.

First of all, it happends when I try to generate a MPP file based on a DB data. In the documentation it says Aspose.Tasks can only create a brand new XML extension file. Well, I try to save my data based on a blank MPP extension file, but when I open it in MS Project after finishing the saving process, it doesn't show me anything or it shows me an Error. What do I need to do?

Second, when I generate a XML extension file, the WBS codes are OK but, when I open the file in MS Project, these codes aren't shown as saved in file. It shows me some consecutive WBS codes. What do I need to do?

Third, and last one, can you tell me what I need to do to assign different resources to specific tasks in the project?

I hope you can help me, Thank you in advance.

I am glad to inform you that we have released Aspose.Tasks v 4.6.0 recently that provides additoinal features of Reading/Writing to MPP files. I would request you to please download this latest version and test all your issues against it.

We need more information to analyze it, therefore we request you to send some console based
application which can reproduce the above mentioned issue. You can declare in-memory tables with
sample rows and columns to simulate the database.

Using above mentioned new version of Aspose.Tasks, if still this issue persisists, then we also need code and snapshots of XML file and MS project where this issue is highlighted. It will provide us
better idea to identify the issue and assist you further to resolve as soon as possible.

For assigning resources to specific task, please visit this LINK. It selects a specific task, generates a new resource and then assigns it to that selected task.

In addition, Aspose also facilitates its users for complete evaluation of its products by obtaining a 30-day free license. You can visit the Get a temporary licence page for this purpose in case you want to try out Aspose.Tasks without any limitations/restrictions imposed by the evaluation version.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Hello Apose Team,

I dowloaded the last version of Aspose.Tasks (4.6) and I performed all the corresponding tests
and the errors mentioned before persist for the XML and MPP files (Ms Project), the WBS and EDT codes are not shown as they were saved in the file or are shown as consecutive numbers.

It also happens that when I generate the mpp file (I update an empty MPP because it can no longer be created a brand new one) then I open it from MS Project, and the created tasks are not shown, instead I have to change the view (go to the resourses page) then, when coming back to the Gantt Diagram view, it does show me the loaded data in the file from .NET. So, how could the MPP file be created so when opening it with MS Project the tasks be shown in the Grantt?

Attached I send you a XML file and a MPP file result of the performed tests.

Thank you in advance!Hello Apose Team,

pd. Your file uploader restricts the MPP file extensions, a little strange, don´t?

Hi Stivenson,

Thanks for using Aspose.Tasks.

I have analyzed the information and data provided by you. I was able to re-produce the issue of wrong WBS in MPP file and have passed all this information to our development team.

Similarly I was able to observe the MPP display issue where tasks are not displayed first time while opening it in MSP 2010 and Gantt Chart option is to be selected to view the tasks. I have also passed this information to the concerned department.

We will write you back as soon as some feedback is received from the development team.

WBS issue is logged under TASKS-33218 in our issue tracking system and Tasks display issue (in Gantt chart view) in MSP is logged under TASKS-33219.

We have noted the MPP files upload issue in Aspose file loader on the forum. This list is set by our web team and we will contact them to consider it for adding in the list.

Hello

Do you please have an update on TASKS-33219? We are currently evaluating the product, and seamless updating of MS Project mpp files is a key requirement. We are just keen to know if this issue is likely to be fixed, and when.

Many Thanks
