Special Acrobat 8 Extensions Removed

Tommy,

Some of our users are creating PDF templates in Acrobat 8 with special extensions to allow certain fields to be editable when loaded in Reader 8. After filling a template using Aspose.Pdf.Kit, Reader 8 throws an error when you load the new PDF stating that the special extensions are gone. You won't be able to edit the fields or save a new PDF from Reader 8.

I've attached a sample template for you to test with.

Thanks,
Natan

Hi, Natan.
Sorry for the inconvenience to give you.

The fillable field feature in Adobe Reader is a special feature which is controlled by Adobe and not described in detail in the Pdf Specification. In Adobe 7, we have partially solved the problem, but in Adobe 8, Adobe has changed the mechanism and we are still working on this hard. So we are not sure how long it will take.

If we have any new progress, we will inform you quickly.

Best regards.
