Support for Autocad file formats

Hi,

Please let me know if you have support for converting a Autocad file formats to pdf in Aspose.Imaging Java component.

Thanks,

Ajesh

Hi Ajesh,

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we don’t have Autocad support in Aspose.Imaging at the moment. However we have already logged a similar request as a new feature in our issue tracking system, IMAGING-33154. I have also linked your request to the issue and you will be notified via this forum thread, as soon as the feature gets available.

Best Regards,

Hi,

Can you let me know the approximate timelines when IMAGING-33154 will be implemented?

Thanks,

Ajesh

Hi Ajesh,

Thanks for your interest. Subjected feature is in development phase and hopefully it will be available in Q1 2013. We will keep you updated regarding issue progress.

Best Regards,

Any update on support for autocad formats??

Thanks,

Ajesh

Hi Ajesh,

Thanks for your patience. We have divided implementation of autocade files rendering in two parts. 2D Dxf and 3D Dxf file format conversion. We had almost completed the PDF conversion support for 2D Dxf file format and release was planned in second week of April. But after careful consideration we have revealed some additional objects those we have not included in the final estimation. That requires additional work of conversion from Dxf and split to basic Aps objects. So we regret to share that, as the outcome we shift the ETA for the feature to the end of May.

Sorry for the inconvenience faced.

Best Regards,

Does this May release date relate to both Java and .NET implementation?

The thread Convert from DWG To PDF said that the DWG conversion was due by March 2013.

Are you working on converting DWG as well as DXF to PDF?

Do you have an ongoing plan to keep up with AutoCAD as they add to their format each year?

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your inquiry. As above mentioned we’ve some incorrect estimates for implementation of AutoCad (DXF file format) conversion to PDF. So we have revised the total amount of work required to finish this task.
Now involved additional developer to finish it sooner and hopefully it will be included in Aspose.Imaging for .NET 1.9, which is planned in June. And this feature will be part of autoported Java version of .NET API.

We are currently working on DXF file format at the moment. Yes once we implement the AutoCAD to PDF conversion then will keep support addition features as much as possible.

Please feel free to contact us for any further assistance.

Best Regards,

Hi Ajesh,

Thanks for your patience. We have almost completed the DXF to PDF feature, We will appreciate if you please share some sample 2D DXF and 3D DXF drawings. It will help us to test the feature before release of API.

Looking forward for your reply.

Best Regards,

The issues you have found earlier (filed as IMAGING-33154) have been fixed in this update.

Thanks,

Ajesh

Hi Ajesh,

The feature under discussion (Conversion of AutoCAD format DXF to PDF) will be available in Java version of the product with the release of Aspose.Imaging for Java v2.0.0. We have planned the said release for the end of October 2013, and it will be available for public use in the first quarter of November 2013.

As soon as v2.0.0 of Aspose.Imaging is available for download, we will notify you here with the link for your reference.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused, and thank you for your patience with us.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as ) have been fixed in this Aspose.Words for JasperReports 18.3 update.
