Support for new Office 2013 Template format

Hi,

We have an application current using Aspose.Words.dll ,Version 11.8.1.0.

We want to be able to use new word 2013 file formats.

Please let us know how to achieve this?

Thanks
Hi Bahadur,

Thanks for your inquiry. Aspose.Words supports all major OOXML versions for example OOXML ECMA-376 and OOXML ISO/IEC DIS 29500. OOXML WordprocessingML documents most often come as DOCX files, which are ZIP packages and Aspose.Words does support DOCX format. However, Aspose.Words does not support ISO/IEC 29500 Strict OOXML version.

We would suggest you please use the latest version of Aspose.Words for .NET 16.1.0. Hope this helps you. Please let us know if you have any more queries.

Hi Tahir,

Thanks for the prompt response.

Would you please let me know what do you mean by "However, Aspose.Words does not support ISO/IEC 29500 Strict OOXML version." in practical terms?

Thanks

Hi Bahadur,

Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, Aspose.Words does not load and save Strict Open XML Document file format. MS Word 2013 provides a feature to save documents with Strict Open XML Document file format. Please check the attached image for detail.

We had logged this feature as WORDSNET-7741 in our issue tracking system. We will inform you via this forum thread once this feature is available. We apologize for your inconvenience.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as WORDSNET-7741) have been fixed in this .NET update and this Java update.
