Text effects are lost after conversion to MS Word 2010 (DOCX) format using .NET

Hello,

We are having an issue regarding documents created using Word 2010; latest version of Aspose.Words (v11.5.0) does not handle properly the Word 2010 specific formatting when save.

Following is a simple example showing that text formatting is lost after save:

var doc = new Document(“Word2010.docx”);
doc.Save(“Word2010_2.docx”);

Comparing ‘Word2010.docx’ and ‘Word2010_2.docx’, you will notice that Word 2010 specific formatting is lost.

It seems to us that Aspose.Words does not provide support for Word 2010. This is a very important
functionality that our products needs.

Thank you,
Bogdan Rusu.

Hi Bogdan,

Thanks for your inquiry. You should just set OoxmlCompliance option. Please try using the following code:

Document doc = new Document("C:\\Temp\\in.docx");

OoxmlSaveOptions opt = new OoxmlSaveOptions(SaveFormat.DOCX);

opt.setCompliance(OoxmlCompliance.ISO_29500_2008_TRANSITIONAL);

doc.save("C:\\Temp\\out.docx", opt);

Please let us know if you have any more queries.

Hello,

I’ve ran the code suggested in your post (changed it for .NET version of Aspose.Words) without any success: the Word 2010 formatting is still lost. Here is the code used to reproduce the issue:

            var doc1 = new Document(@“Word2010.docx”);
var doc2 = new Document(@“WordArt.docx”);
        <span style="color:blue;">var</span> opt = <span style="color:blue;">new</span> <span style="color:#2b91af;">OoxmlSaveOptions</span>(<span style="color:#2b91af;">SaveFormat</span>.Docx);
        opt.Compliance = <span style="color:#2b91af;">OoxmlCompliance</span>.Iso29500_2008_Transitional;

        doc1.Save(<span style="color:#a31515;">@"Word2010_2.docx"</span>, opt);
        doc2.Save(<span style="color:#a31515;">@"WordArt_2.docx"</span>, opt);</pre>Note: <br><ul><li>comparing 'Word2010.docx' and 'Word2010_2.docx' files you can observe that the text effects are lost</li><li>comparing 'WordArt.docx' and 'WordArt_2.docx' files you can observe that the word art items are not the same, black text is displayed.</li></ul><p>Looking forward for a fix to this issue.<br></p><br>Thank you,<br>Bogdan Rusu,<br>IBM Romania.<br>

Hello,

We’ve tested with Aspose.Words version 14.5.0.0, both of the issues seems to be solved.
