Attempting to extract text from the attached doc by saving as text causes a stall or infinite loop. Please advise…
The document appears to have incorrect formatting. Openning and resaving it using MS Word 2003 cures the problem. Please tell me how this document was created in the first place - what version of MS Word was used to create it?
Unfortunately, I don’t know the source of the document. We received it from one of our clients to convert and extract text from. Word can open it, so I’m assuming it should be possible for you to handle the incorrect formatting?
This is not an isolated document, btw… Out of the many documents we have attempted to extract text from, several have exhibited this behavior.
I have logged this problem in our defect base as Isssue #866.
We will deal with it in the next 1-2 weeks and inform you afterwards.
