Text lost- links coverted to http://www.techrepublic.com/article.jhtml?id=r00820010820moc01.htm

When I convert the attached docx file, the word “Alice” is missing and all links are converted to http://www.techrepublic.com/article.jhtml?id=r00820010820moc01.htm. I’m using the Document Explorer demo with Aspose.Words for .NET 5.1.0.0.

Hi
Thanks for your request. Please try using the latest version of Aspose.Words 5.2.0. You can download it from here
https://releases.aspose.com/words/net
I tried to convert your document to DOC, HTML and PDF and all works fine on my side.
Best regards.

Same thing happens with 5.2.0.0. Are you trying Document Explorer?
The techrepublic substitution is very strange. I see another post on these forums that mentions it – just search for “techrepublic”.

Hi
Could you please attach your output document? Also try rebuilding DocExplorer.
Best regards.

I find that the techrepulibc link substitution happens when reading even this very simple document with a link, saved as docx from Word 2003.

I don’t have an output document since I’m just testing with Document Explorer, but here’s a screenshot.

Hi
Here is what I see on my side:
Here’s a link: [!FieldStart!] HYPERLINK "http://www.adobe.com/" [!FieldSeparator!]right here[!FieldEnd!].¶ [!SectionBreak!]
Please try rebuilding DocumentExplorer. Most probably it uses old Aspose.Words.dll.
Best regards.

You’re right, rebuilding Document Explorer does fix the problem. Thank you.
I’m still curious about where the techrepublic link was coming from. Was that hardcoded somewhere as a default value?
