TextFrameEx.get_Text returns null

Trying to do a DiagramNodeEx.TextFrame.Text. This always returns the following (keep in mind topNode is the DiagramNodeEx object i am trying to manipulate.

Message “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” string
StackTrace " at Aspose.Slides.Pptx.TextFrameEx.get_Text()" string
- Text ‘topNode.TextFrame.Text’ threw an exception of type ‘System.NullReferenceException’ string {System.NullReferenceException}
