Trying To Loop Through Data On A Slide

I need to loop through a list objects and populate certain elements from each item in the list onto a slide.
I had a potential solution using the table row cloning feature. I now have a new requirement where I need to be flexible with which data elements are in the row. Currently I use the ‘Alt Text’ metadata for shape to correspond to my actual data.

In word I use mailmerge tags to create a list and it is easy to loop through and allow flexibility as to which data elements are filled in with actuals data. If the mailmerge tag for a data element is left out then that data will be skipped.

I need that same flexibility with power point.

I have observed your comments but I am unable to completely understand it. I request you to please explain a little with the help of screenshots and a presentation as expected output. I have gone through the code shared by you. It is correct and this is how a table could be filled with some data, now what functionality do you want from Aspose.Slides. Please share the requested details with us so that we may investigate it further to help you out.

Hi - inside the .ppt file I attached you will see a table with a alternative text labels “RRETable”. That table has 6 columns and the source code is hard coded to fill in each column with a certain piece of data (title, person, data, description, etc.). That works great and I am able to loop through the list and clone the table row for each element in the list.

The new requirement is to be flexible with the data in that “RRETable” row. The objects in the list have many more data elements and I need to be able to allow a user to create a .ppt template file with any of the data elements in those list objects.

For instance a user may not want the ‘description’ but they may want two other data fields ‘startDate’ and ‘dueDate’. Right now I can’t build a flexible row that can be cloned in that ‘RRETable’.

In Word I handle this by using mailmerge tags <TableStart:xxxx> and ,TableEnd:xxxx> with all of the data elements listed inside those tablestart and end tags. If the user wanted to create a document with only a few of those data elements then they could simply leave out the data elements that they do not wish to see.

We allow users to create .ppt and .doc template files that we load and run to create .doc and .ppt reports. I need a way for the users to be able to loop through the list and to selectively choose the data elements they want from those objects in the list.

If there was a way to use alternative text on a cell then that would work - or a way to insert a text box (that I could then use the alternative text) into a cell.

Any other suggestions?
