Unable to connect client to ReportServer

The only way that I have been able to connect to the Report Server from Excel is by changing the Report Server to anonymous access in IIS. That is unacceptable because it allows all users access to all reports on that server. I have administrator privileges on the Report Server machine and am able to access everything other than this.

The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)

I don’t know why this works but I was able to connect by leaving the login and password off of the connection form.

This fix version is 1.1.1.2.

Please uninstall old version and install this fix.

Please test manual connected SSRS server.

  • Input \\[SSRS IP address] and click OK button
  • Whether pop-up login window?
  • If pop-up login windows , to the normal login?
