Unable to edit chart data manually in word chart/ using Aspose.Word for .Net 15.6.0

Hi there,

Using Aspose.Word for .Net 15.6.0, I am creating a chart form scratch. To create chart, I have copied the code from your below given URL:

I want to edit chart data in Excel and to do that when I right click on chart and click “Edit Data”, it doesn’t open related excel file containing chart data. I have attached generated .docx file for your help. Please look into this.

private void CreateChart()
    Document doc = new Document();
    DocumentBuilder builder = new DocumentBuilder(doc);

    // Add chart with default data. You can specify different chart types and sizes.
    Shape shape = builder.InsertChart(ChartType.Column, 432, 252);

    // Chart property of Shape contains all chart related options.
    Chart chart = shape.Chart;

    // Get chart series collection.
    ChartSeriesCollection seriesColl = chart.Series;

    // Delete default generated series.

    // Create category names array, in this example we have two categories.
    string[] categories = new string[] { "AW Category 1", "AW Category 2" };

    // Adding new series. Please note, data arrays must not be empty and arrays must be the same size.
    seriesColl.Add("AW Series 1", categories, new double[] { 1, 2 });
    seriesColl.Add("AW Series 2", categories, new double[] { 3, 4 });
    seriesColl.Add("AW Series 3", categories, new double[] { 5, 6 });
    seriesColl.Add("AW Series 4", categories, new double[] { 7, 8 });
    seriesColl.Add("AW Series 5", categories, new double[] { 9, 10 });

    doc.Save(DataDir + @"TestInsertChartColumn.docx");

Hi Alida,

Thanks for your inquiry.

This problem (WORDSNET-12092) actually requires us to implement a new feature in Aspose.Words and we regret to share with you that implementation of this issue has been postponed for now. However, the fix of this problem may definitely come onto the product roadmap in the future. Unfortunately, we can not currently promise a resolution date. We apologize for your inconvenience.

Also, please follow your other thread for further proceedings.
