Hello Jaspersoft
We would like to use the Jasper Report Server together with the addditional exporters from Aspose.
But it seems these additional exporters cannot be uses through the JasperReports WebServices.
The
runReport WebService has a parameter RUN_OUTPUT_FORMAT, but its values
are restricted to PDF, HTML, XLS, RTF, CSV, XML, JRPRINT.
So after installing the exporters from Aspose, how can I use these additional output formats through the Web Service.
Question 1:
How can we use the Aspose exporters through the Web Service ?
Question 2:
Looking at the source of the community edition of Jasper Report Server, the values for RUN_OUTPUT_FORMAT are hard-coded.
But
the build instructions seems to be out-of-date. If you could help me
set up my environment, I’d happily share my modifications with you.
Question 3:
Jasper
Report Server is at version 5.1 but the Aspose Components are only
available for previous releases (for ex. Aspose.Cells has jar-files for
3.5 to 4.7).
When will the components be available for the latest release of Jasper Report?
This
is important because I cannot download previous releases of the
commercial Jasper Report Server; previous releases of the community
Jasper Report Server are available though.
Best regards
Stefan Kuhn

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your interest in Aspose. Could you please share some more details in which Aspose component you are interested? So we will provide you information accordingly.
In case of Aspose.Words, following two jar files are included in Aspose.Words for JasperReports.
- aspose.words.jasperreports.jar
- aspose.words.jasperreports-3.7.1.jar
You should use only one of them. When you are using JasperReports version greater than 3.7.1 (in your case), please use only aspose.words.jasperreports.jar file. The aspose.words.jasperreports-3.7.1.jar is for JasperReports v.3.7.1 and lower versions.
Hi Tahir
Thanks for your response.
We are interested in Aspose.Cells, Aspose.Slides and possibly Aspose.Words.
The real problem however is not being able to use the Aspose exporters through the Jasper WebService (runReport), see question 1 above.
Best Regards
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for sharing the details. I am in communication with the development team and will update you as soon as I have information on this.
Hi,
Just to update you that we have released our next version of Aspose.Cells for JasperReports v1.1.3 which does support JasperReports Server 5.1 and includes the relevant library for it now. You may try to download it here:
Thank you.
Hi,
Is there an installation guide to register the Aspose exporter for web services?
We tried to modify the applicationContext-web-services.xml, but without success.
Would be nice to get a response.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
