Watermark now showing on powerpoints

My company purchased Aspose.Slides Developer ENT and Aspose.PDF KIT for .NET Devloper back in October of 2007. We are developing an application for the Air Force and we used the software to perform a deliverable. Our subscription expiry date did not end until October 21, 2008. When we packaged the application for the Air Force within our subscription period it included the software we bought from you. Everything worked fine at that point. The problem we are having now is that a watermark is showing up on created Powerpoints (It says "Evaluation Only Created with Aspose.PDF.KIT"). The subscription expiry is past but we have not changed the DLL file...it is still the same DLL we installed. Also, the software is not having problems finding the license file.

We need a resolution to this problem as soon as possible due to the fact that our customer does not allow evaluation software and the software is in the customers production environment. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Hello Shawn,

Could you please clarify. If you have watermark “Created with Aspose.PDF.KIT” you should post this question in the Aspose.Pdf.Kit forum. At the same time, I don’t really understand why this watermark appears in a PowerPoint presentation. Do you create image of Pdf page and insert it to a presentation?

The software is supposed to take a PDF and create a powerpoint presentation from it. Originally it used to not show the watermark ,but now it shows the watermark. The software hasn’t been updated so it shouldn’t be a problem with the DLL. Our customer does not allow for evaluation software to be on their production systems so this is a problem. Do I need to still post my concern on the PDF.Kit forum to get this resolved?

I have moved the thread to the right forum so Aspose.Pdf.Kit team will help you soon.

Hi Shawn,

Please share the license file with us so we could look into the problem. Please Do Not share the license file on the forums, rather follow the instructions on this link to send a license file to Aspose staff.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards,

I sent the license files as requested. An expedited response would be greatly appreciated. Our customer is looking to have this resolved by Thursday September 3.

Hi Shawn,

Please share the Aspose.Pdf.Kit DLL you’re using at your end. We need to test the issue with that DLL.
It would be better if you could share the sample project showing the problem, so we could reproduce the problem at our end and find the reason.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Hi Shawn,

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but we would also require the resource file (Aspose.Pdf.Kit.res) you’re using at your end. You can find this along with the DLL file. Please share the resource file we could continue working on this issue.

Hi Shawn,

I have been working closely with our development team on this issue, but I’m afraid that we couldn’t reproduce the problem at our end. The license file is working fine at our end. We’re very sorry, but in order to understand and then resolve the issue we need to reproduce the problem at our end. Can you please try creating a sample project (along with some sample code) which can reproduce the problem and share that with us?

We really appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Hi Shawn,

We need some more information regarding this issue to be able to resolve it. Please have a look at the following list:

1. The Aspose.Pdf.Kit version previously shared by you was 2.6.3.0, but the version included with the project is 2.6.0.0. Can you please share which version is being used in the final application?

2. Please share the machine specifications and the OS details you’re running your application on.

3. Please share a few of the sample PDF files you’re working with and corresponding output images. We need those for testing purposes.

4. The solution you sent is not the complete working solution; some files are missing. Please share complete working solution that can be used to see the actual problem, so that our team would be able to focus on the particular issue.

Also, I have logged this issue as PDFKITNET-10733 in our issue tracking system. We’re further investgating the problem, but I’m afraid this can take some time.

We appreciate your patience.

Shahzad,

The answers to all your questions are below.

1. Version 2.6.0.0 is being used in the final application. Is there anyway we can re download versions 2.6.0.0 and 2.6.3.0?

2. The application is running on a 32 bit Windows XP PC.

3. The PDF files may be classified so not sure if I can share those with you.

4. What files are missing? I sent all the files that we used on the project.

Thanks,

Shawn

Hi Shawn,

First of all, I would like to inform you that we don’t allow to download the older versions of Aspose.Pdf.Kit.

Secondly, the sample project, you shared previously, is missing files like Resources and Settings etc. under My Project folder. In fact, in order to reproduce the problem at our end we need a complete working sample that can be run at our end showing the exact same problem it is causing at your side. You can create a sample project with all the required resources at your end, which can reproduce the problem and then share that sample with us; a sample that can be run with out making any changes by us so we could understand the real cause of the problem. Also, a sample input PDF file, which you test your project with, will also be helpful for us; it should not necessarily be some confidential file, rather it can be any test file. You can send the sample project using “Contact -> Send Shahzad.Latif an email” option from the menu.

I would like to add that it is very important for us to reproduce the exact problem with the same scenario to understand and resolve the issue.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Shawn,

I just wanted to update you that we have received the updated project and we’ll be looking into the matter at our end. You’ll be updated with the status of the issue via this forum the earliest possible.

We appreciate your patience.

Hi Shawn,

I have tested this issue with Aspose.Pdf.Kit for .NET 2.6.1.0 and 2.6.3.0 and it worked perfectly fine. There is no problem with your DLL, Resource File or License File. The only reason for the watermarks being shown is that the DLL can’t find the license file.

Please make sure that, when you install your service, your license files are being copied to the same folder as your DLL and Resource files i.e. Aspose.Pdf.Kit.dll and Aspose.Pdf.Kit.res. As long as the Aspose.Pdf.Kit DLL can find the license file, there shouldn’t be any watermark issues.

Please try this at your end and if you still find any problems then do let us know.
