Why do I not see any tagged content in a PDF document?

Good morning, Support!

Happy New Year to you, and thank you for your ongoing support.

Could you please help us with this: We have a PFD document from a third party. We can examine the document (a form with tabular appearance and many form fields) in the Adobe Creator. Using it’s Navigation / Tags pane, the tool reveals the document’s structure. It is well organized by tags. However, when we open the document with your API:

var documentFactory = new Aspose.Pdf.DocumentFactory();
var document = documentFactory.CreateDocument(@"D:\test\test.pdf");

then document.TaggedPdfContent is:

    ChildElements: {Aspose.Pdf.TaggedPdf.TaggedPdfChildElements}
    MCID: 0
    Page: null
    Parent: null
    Tag: null

and ChildElements doesn’t seem to contain anything. Apparently, there is no tagged content.

The documentation of TaggedPdfDocumentElement says “Its a beta API”. Is this the reason for us not seeing anything, or is there another way to access the document’s tag structure?

Looking foward to your answer and thank you very much.

Eckhard Zucker

Thanks for contacting support.

Would you please share your sample PDF document and some screenshot of Tagged Elements you can view in Adobe Reader. We will test the scenario in our environment and address it accordingly.
