I am using Aspose Words 17.4.0.0 to modify links within Word documents. While troubleshooting an issue, I noticed that a WINWORD.exe process had been launched and was holding on to a handle to a DOC file that I was processing. Does Aspose use Word if it is installed on the computer? If so, is there a way to disable the DLL from using Word?

If your input document is already in use by MS Word, Aspose.Words will throw an exception. Could you please share some more detail about the issue you are facing? We will then provide you more information on this.
