We’re using Aspose.Words to convert Word (.doc) documents to PDFs and have a customer that is running Windows Server 2008 64-bit. We can run documents through the service on other 64-bit machines and on other 32-bit machines, but this particular combination fails repeatedly. The stack trace below shows the details.
We’re using the latest (3/1/10) version of Aspose.Words and the call appears to be failing on the Save method. I’m attaching an example document that fails the process. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello
Thanks for your request. I cannot reproduce the problem on my side using the latest version of Aspose.Words (8.2.0). You can download this version from here:
https://releases.aspose.com/words/net
Best regards,
We first encountered the issue while using version 8.0.0. However, when we encountered the error, I tried using version 8.2.0, but still received the same error. I tried the upgraded component on the client’s machine and on a machine in our office, and received the error on both machines.
Do you have any further suggestions for me to try?
Thanks!
Hello
Thank you for additional information. I still cannot reproduce the problem on my side. Please make sure you use Aspose.Words 8.2.0 version in your application, maybe, you missed to update a reference in your application. Also, could you please create a sample application which will allow me to replicate the problem on my side? I will check it and provide you more information.
Best regards,
The attached C# project will generate the error. Place the file from the previous attachment in the input folder. When you run the program, click the Test button and you’ll get the error message.
Hello
Thank you for additional information. I managed to reproduce the problem on my side. Your request has been linked to the appropriate issue. You will be notified as soon as it is resolved.
Best regards,
Awesome! I have one last question for you. As a new customer, I’m not sure if this is possible, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Do you have any idea when a fix will be available? The project manager & our customer are both asking me for this information.
Thank you for all your help Andrey!
Hello
Thanks for your request. Unfortunately, I cannot provide you any reliable estimate regarding this issue at the moment. Please expect a reply before next hotfix (within 4-5 weeks). We might just fix the problem or provide you more information.
Best regards,
Andrey,
Are you the best person to correspond with to discuss options for a guarantee on the timeframe for resolving this issue?
Hello
Thanks for your request. This issue will be fixed in the next version which will be released at the beginning of the next month.
Best regards,
Andrey,
We downloaded Aspose.Words 9.0 this morning. We get the same error as before. Your last response was that this would be fixed in the next version. Was this bug not included in the release or did the bug fix not resolve our issue?
Hello
Thanks for your request. Unfortunately, the issue was postponed to the next version of Aspose.Words. You will be notified as soon as there is some new information regarding this issue. Sorry for inconvenience.
Best regards,
We purchased this component for a very specific need and this issue is causing trouble for us. When is the next scheduled release for Aspose.Words and how can we be assured this will be resolved in the next release?
Hello
Thanks for your inquiry. We are currently working on this issue, and I added your request to my monthly report, so its priority will be increased. The next version will be released within 4-5 weeks. You will be notified.
Best regards,
We are having the exact same issue with Aspose.Words 9.0 running on 64bit Windows Server.
I have found out that the above error is caused by a table placed in the document footer when the content spans 2 or more pages. There is no error if the document has only one page or when I remove the table completely.
I look forward to hear from you once the issue is resolved in the next release. Although there seems to be a workaround for me for particular document (by changing the footer), I’m concerned about other documents causing the same or similar errors.
Hello
Thanks for additional information. Also, could you please attach your document here for testing?
Best regards,
Andrey, is there a way to be assured this will be resolved in the next release given the last assurance was false?
Hi Jason,
Thanks for your inquiry. Since your request was added into the support monthly report, special attention will be given to this issue. Also I contacted developer who will work on this issue and asked him to take a look on this issue shortly.
Best regards.
Please find attached the sample document that causes the issue. I hope it will help.
Hi Andrzej,
Thank you for additional information. I cannot reproduce the problem with your document using the latest version of Aspose.Words. Could you please explain how I can reproduce the problem, or create simple application which allows me to reproduce it.
Best regards,
