Binary DOC files made by Microsoft Word 2007 are supported by Aspose.Words already. XML files will be fully supported in the next few months.

When will this format be supported in the Java version? And do you also plan to add RTF and Aspose.Pdf.Xml support in this version?

Hi,

Sorry what format do you mean of the mentioned above? Binary DOCs made by Microsoft Word 2007 are also supported by Aspose.Words for Java; PDF support will be implemented in several months; RTF and WordML support will be added after that.

Is there a timeline for supporting the new Word 2007 file format (docx)?

Already any beta versions out there? The only feature I would currently need is the word-count in a document.

Hi,

DOCX will be supported somewhere in 2007, probably in the first half of the year. No beta versions are available yet.

I saved a document with Word 2007 in the old Word 2003 format, but the Words Component could still not process the document.

My component is version 3.6.1

New versions of stylesheets are supported in the newer versions. Please download the latest version of Aspose.Words.

i’m using Aspose.Words 4.0.4.0 but i still get the same crash of :Unsupported version of the stylesheet.

i downloaded the new .dll and added the reference in my project. so why is it still crashing ?

Your document opens correctly in my test environment. Please verify that your project actually uses the latest version (using Properties window while the dll reference is selected in Solution Explorer).

i checked the reference, and it is referencing the correct version of Aspose, please find attached the template “A4Template.doc” this is where the crash is occuring.

Hey

I’ve downloaded the new Version of Words for .Net to check if it works with a document that was saved in Word 2007 as a Word 2003 file.

But the installer is only available in an .msi version and that one fails to install on Windows Vista. Do you have a “dll only” package that I could try?

We are happy to tell you that the new version of Aspose.Words for Java was released. Support of Rtf and Odt formats were added in this release!
