Applying backgroundcolor to cells with pattern solid

Why is it that you can't apply a solid background colour to a cell? Of all the things to not work (meaning this product has outperformed most competitors’ products by a long way) this one just doesn’t make any sense. Is there a workaround or anything? I need to have a bold font with a solid coloured background for the heading row - not my choice but that of a client, although it's a pretty fair request..<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Hi, Thanks for the prompt reply.

I had already checked this documentation but looking over it again it would appear that in order to set the "Background" colour you actually have to set the "Foreground" colour (defined in your documentation as being the cell outline) and then set cell shading to true - is this correct? I cant test right now as I am not at my work pc but I will try this in the morning.. Thank you.

Hi,

Yes, your understanding is correct.
