Applying Password Protection to .ppt file

Hi,

I want to apply an “Open Password” to a .ppt file, which is already created on disk. I need the same file format (.ppt) after password is applied. That is, if someone tries to open the file, he/she will be prompted for an Open password without which one cannot even view the document.

I tried doing this with ProtectionManager.Encrypt(“pass”). After Encryption, I saved the file again, with .ppt format with same name. It solved my purpose, but it tampered some data. For example, SmartArt got lost. WordArt changed etc.

Is there any way by which I will just be able to apply password to existing file, with no change in underlying data and formats.

Thanks

Hi Garima,

I have observed your comments and like to share that practically there should not be loss of any data inside presentation on applying protection. I request you to please provide the source presentation, generated presentation and used sample code with us. I will investigate the issue further on my end to help you out.

Many Thanks,
