ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException with one .ttf font

Hi,

first off, thanks for Aspose.Words. It’s a great product and I really haven’t had much reason to come to this forum asking for help since I’ve been using it.

Anyway, just now something crept up that I need a little help with. I’ve got a font that causes an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException while converting from .doc to .pdf when used in a Word document.

I’m attaching a zip archive containing the font file and a test project including an MS Word document. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me figure out what’s going on and fix this.

Thanks,
Johannes

Hello

Thanks for your request and kind words. I managed to reproduce the problem on my side. Your request has been linked to the appropriate issue. You will be notified as soon as it is fixed. This problem does not occur in .NET version of Aspose.Words. Currently we are working on synchronizing Java and .NET versions of Aspose.Words. Once we finish this work all functionality which is supported in, NET version will be supported in Java version. Also you should note, converting to PDF is in beta at the moment. I will notify you as soon as converting to PDF in Aspose.Words for Java is out of beta.
Best regards,

Hi,

It’s been a while and I haven’t received any updates so far. Are there any plans for a new relase of Aspose.Words for Java, yet?

And what is going to be the status for the Word->PDF conversion feature in that hypothetical release?

Thanks,
Johannes

Hello
Thanks for your inquiry. We are still working on synchronizing .NET and Java versions of Aspose.Words. You can check progress here:
https://blog.aspose.com/2011/01/10/autoporting-aspose-words-for-java-progress-10th-jan-2011
Once we finish this work all functionality which is supported in, NET version will be supported in Java version, including Word to PDF converting.
Best regards,

Hi,

just checking the progress here. The blog post seemed to suggest that you were expecting to release 10.0 for sometime in February and I haven’t heard from you yet.

Meanwhile: can you suggest a workaround of some sort? Could we do something to the font to make it compatible with Aspose.Words 9.0.3?

Thanks,
Johannes

Hello

Thanks for your request. We are looking forward to releasing a useable version of Aspose.Words for Java in March. If it will be “10.0 beta”, then only for a short while. You will be notified as soon as it is released.
Unfortunately, I cannot suggest you any way to work this problem around at the moment.
Best regards,

Hi,

we read on your website that there will be a limited version of Aspose.Words 10 available to “several customers”. As we’re really anxious to see whether the new version will fix our issue and how difficult it will be to upgrade, we’d really appreciate being one of those customers.

Could you tell us, please, in what respect the beta version will be limited and how we might apply as beta testers?

Thanks,
Johannes

Edit: Also, is there a changelog for the new version anywhere?

Hi
Thanks for your request. I added your requests to the list of customers who would like to test the beta version of Aspose.Words for Java. We will let you know once it comes out.
Once we finish synchronization of Aspose.Words for Java and Aspose.Words for NET, almost all functionality which is supported in, NET version will be supported in Java version.
Best regards,
