Aspose.OCR Japanese Character Support

Hello,

According to your web site, it seems that currently Aspose.OCR for .NET supports English, French and Spanish languages, and also Aspose.OCR for Java supports only English language.

Do you have plans to add the support of Japanese language in both Aspose.OCR for .NET and Java?
If so, please let us know the timeframe.

Hi,

A new feature request in this regard has been logged into our issue tracking system as OCR-31047 and the priority of the issue has been raised to 'priority support'. We will let you know once we have a concrete plan on this issue.

Thanks a lot for your co-operation. The issue has been planned for the next monthly release and hopefully it will be fixed soon. We will update you as soon as it is fixed.

If you can provide samples for testing purpose, it will help us identifying the issues in extracting text from your documents.

According to the road map of Aspose.OCR APIs, the support for Japanese language is scheduled for the 4th quarter of year 2015.

We had restructured Aspose.OCR API because of the performance issues and restructured API is much better as compared to the older one. Now our team is working on improving already supported features and languages.

A much more sophisticated engine is required to support Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages and the implementation of this feature has been postponed for a later release. We will not be able to start implementing this feature until existing features and languages acquire a certain level of maturity.

At the moment, we are not in a position to share any reliable ETA, however, we will update you once our product team brings this feature on their roadmap again. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The issues you have found earlier (filed as ) have been fixed in this Aspose.Words for JasperReports 18.3 update.
