Hi,

On the following link: https://docs.aspose.com/words/java/convert-a-document-to-pdf/ there is a section called file Format Components >> Aspose.Pdf for .NET and Java >> Knowledge Base >> Known Issues >> word to Pdf which specifies word to Pdf is not supported in the Java version.

Is it the case that in any Java version (Aspose.Pdf or Aspose.Total) that word cannot be converted to a Pdf file format?

Is there any conversion capabilites to pdf in Aspose.word?

Thanks for your request. Unfortunately this PDF format is still not available in java version of Aspose.Words. We plan to support PDF format in the future. Hopefully, this feature will be supported in the second half of this year, but I cannot promise anything. I will notify you as soon as PDF is supported.

Thanks for your usual swift response. Can I just be clear (for my report I will be sending to our clients) that as well as Aspose.Words, Aspose.Pdf and Aspose.Total for Java also have no capabilities to convert Word to Pdf, but you hope that 1 of your products will later in the year, although this is not guaranteed.

I think I know the answer but need to ask it in this way for my report, otherwise it will be an “assumption”.

Aspose.Pdf does not support conversion from Word to Pdf. This conversion is achieved through two components Aspose.Words and Aspose.Pdf (in.NET version). Aspose.Words generates an intermediate XML that is used by Aspose.Pdf to produce a PDF document. This feature is only available in .NET version of Aspose.Words and Aspose.Pdf.

Starting from Aspose.Words 6.0.0 we introduced new method to convert Word to PDF (without using Aspose.Pdf). And currently Aspose.Words for .NET supported both ways of PDF conversion.

Historically, all new features are developed in .NET mainstream and then ported to Java. This could take quite a long time.

Regarding Aspose.Total, it is not a single product. Aspose.Tptal includes Aspose.Words, Aspose.Pdf, Aspose.Cells etc.
