Aspose PDF Kit Compression

I currently have Aspose PDF kit for .NET version 2.6.4.0. I have noticed that often when I run my word documents through Aspose it actually makes my documents quite a bit larger (4-5 times larger). Right now the documents I am using are a combination of word documents that contain dynamic data and pdf documents with completely static data.

We are going to be moving from creating our documents in Word to using Adobe InDesign. This means that the documents we are creating will be in PDF pulling dynamic data. For this we have looked into using 3.5.0.0 but we are afraid that the compression will continue to make the documents larger.

Can you please explain:

  1. How compression works in PDF Kit
  2. If there is any difference if a word doc is used vs. a PDF doc
  3. If there is a difference in how compression is handled from 2.6.4.0 to 3.5.0.0

Hi,

Thank you very much for considering Aspose.

I have forwarded a request to our development team to look into this matter. You’ll be updated via this forum as some response is received from our team.

We appreciate your patience.

Hi,

I’m afraid, we need a little more information from your end to answer your questions properly.

  1. How compression works in PDF Kit

Please elaborate a little bit, what do you exactly want to know? I think, a little explanation can help us answer your question in a better way.

  2. If there is any difference if a word doc is used vs. a PDF doc

What differences (between Word and PDF doc) are you referring too? Can you please be more precise regarding the difference you’re talking about?

  3. If there is a difference in how compression is handled from 2.6.4.0 to 3.5.0.0

As far as the handling of compression is concerned, there is no difference between the above mentioned versions. It is handled the same way in both versions.

Please elaborate your concerns and questions in a little detail and we’ll be pleased to help you out.

Regards,
