I am using Aspose Words 10.2 & saving word file as pdf file.
When i use DocumentBuilder.insertCheckBox it perfectly prints checkbox in word , for checked checkbox…square with cross image & for unchecked empty square.
When i save this file as pdf…in spite of the fact checkbox is checked it pdf renders same with empty square.
Is this bug or limitation?
PFA pdf for reference. Here for column6 is checked checkbox but still it is appearing it as empty square.
Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that Aspose.Words requires TrueType fonts when rendering documents to fixed-page formats (PDF, XPS or SWF). The old versions of Aspose.Words require WingDings2 font for check-box rendering in fixed page formats (PDF, XPS or SWF). This dependency has been removed in latest version of Aspose.Words 13.2.0.
I would suggest you please upgrade to the latest version (v13.2.0) from here and let us know how it goes on your side. Hope this helps you. Please let us know if you have any more queries.
WingDings2 is installed on my machine still it is not displaying proper checkbox…what can be the issue? Are you able to reproduce checkbox issue during doc to pdf conversion locally?
Please upgrade to the latest version (v13.2.0) fromhereand let us know how it goes on your side. If the problem still remains, please attach your input Word document here for testing. I will investigate the issue on my side and provide you more information.
It is working properly on 13.2.0 but as of now i can not upgrade to 13.2.0 because of licensing cost & other issues…can you give me any workaround in 10.2 itself?
Thanks for your inquiry. This is a bug in the version which you are using. We encourage you to please use the latest version of Aspose.Words as it contains newly introduced features, enhancements and fixes for issues reported earlier. So, I would suggest you please upgrade to the latest version (v13.2.0) from here:
I have already told…it is not possible for me to upgrade, as you accept this as Aspose bug can you provide me any workaround for same? i am sure there must be some work around for this issue.
Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no workaround available for this issue. The only way to get a fix is upgrading to the newest versions. You may also replace check boxes with images (the checkbox images for checked and unchecked value) and save your document to PDF.
