Thanks for your inquiry. There are special versions of Aspose.Words for java for jdk 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6. So if you use jdk1.5 Aspose.Words will work fine on your environment. You are free to evaluate our product. Here is the latest version of Aspose.Words for java.
