Sirs,
I’m trying Aspose Barcode for Compact .NET Framework and I get an error when accessing the BarcodeBuilder component (it says it can’t load the class in the assembly).
I assume that’s caused by not using a license, so I got a 30-day license. Then when loading the temporary license I got an error saying that System.Xml 3.5.0.0 is required, when this component is supposed to be for .NET Framweork 2.0.
Is it compiled using the wrong target version or am I forced to use CF 3.5 instead?
By the way, am I right assuming the first error is caused by not having a license?
Thank you in advance.
Al.
Hi Albert,
Thanks for your inquiry. We are working over your query and shall get back to you shortly.
Hi Albert,
Thank you for being patient. I tested your scenario against the latest build of Aspose.BarCode 5.9.0. I managed to replicate the error message of not loading BarcodeBuilder class. I have logged this issue under ticket id BARCODENET-33765 in our issue tracking system. I have attached a screenshot for your reference. Your request has also been linked to this issue and you will be notified as soon as it is fixed.
Second, please share further details about Aspose.BarCode version and error description of System.Xml 3.5.0. We shall take a closer look and guide you accordingly. We’re sorry for your inconvenience.
Thank you for taking care of it. I’m sorry I didn’t post any more details because the error was pretty clear and the version was the latest one downloaded from the web site. I will post here all details if I have the chance today to run it again.
Hi Albert,
Well, when I applied license with the latest build of Aspose.BarCode 5.9.0. I’m able to produce a type load error message. I have logged this problem under ticket id BARCODENET-33770 in our issue tracking system. I asked about further details because I’m not able to produce System.Xml 3.5.0 error. I have attached a screenshot for your reference. This forum thread has been linked to this issue and you will be notified as soon as it is fixed. We’re sorry for your inconvenience.
Thank you for your answer, Imran. I’m also attaching the screenshot of the error, which looks pretty much like the one you have (System.TypeLoadException), but with the additional info on the 3.5 assembly missing. I hope these details are useful enough.
Hi Albert,
Thank you for sharing this information. I’m able to produce this error message on set license method call, please confirm. The error type is same but description is not matching. I have attached a screenshot for your reference. It may due to the different environment or Aspose.BarCode version. It will be so nice of you if you may please share environment details along with exact Aspose.BarCode version.
Hi Imran,
As I said above, I’m using the latest version which is the same than yours, 5.9.0.0. I’d say the error you get is still the same than mine, although description tells the same thing with different words.
I’ve tested it in Windows CE 6.0 with .NET Framework 2.0 installed, and the development suite used is Visual Studio 2005. Let me know if you need more info.
Hi Albert,
Thank you for sharing these details. I have passed this information to our development team. As soon as we have made some significant progress, we would be more than happy to update you with the status of correction.
Hi Albert,
We have a good news for you is BARCODENET-33765 and BARCODENET-33770 have now been resolved and their fix will be included in the next version of Aspose.BarCode for .NET 6.0.0. It is expected in a couple of weeks. We will inform you via this forum thread as soon as the new release is published.
Hi Imran,
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my temporary license probably will be expired by then. Is there any chance to ask for an extension of the test period, and where should I ask for it, when I have the chance to test it? Thank you.

Hi Albert,
Thank you for your inquiry. Please accept our apology for missing notifications. These two issues have been fixed in our latest build of Aspose.BarCode for .NET 6.0.0. You can download it from here:
Furthermore, you can check the expiry date of your license file. You can open the license file using notepad. You will see an expiry date inside subscription expiry tag.
i.e. 20110218
It means that you can free upgrade to version of Aspose component published before 02/18/2011.
In case, it has been expired, I would recommend you to
create a new post in Aspose.Purchase forum. Because Aspose.Purchase forum is to handle such queries. Please do not forget to quote this forum thread in your post.
Please do let me know in case of further assistance or questions.
