Bullet List appear as blank in DOCX file

Hi,

I am copying some content from plain text to an XML file and then to a DOCX file. In the XML file I get a special character  in the XML file and blank space in the DOCX file.

The bullet is lost in the DOCX file. How to get the bullets in the DOCX file ?

I have installed the TrueType fonts (Symbol & Wingding) to the Linux machine.

I tried to set the font folder using FontSettings.setFontFolder but still no luck.

I have attached the screenshot of the screen, XML file & DOCX file.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Prabhaker,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please attach your sample documents you're getting this problem with here for testing. Also, please share simplified code (without compilation errors) to be able to reproduce the same problem on our end. We will investigate the issue on our end and provide you more information.

Best regards,

Hi Awais,

Thank you for your reply. I am generating an XML file with attributes and their values in Linux (CentOS). But when I open the generated XML file in gedit editor, the bullets appear as some character “0005” which becomes a space in the DOCX file. I think there in no problem with Aspose APIs. When I open the same XML file outside the Linux it shows me the bullets.

I think 0005 is ASCII code for space. Can you please suggest any workaround for this problem ?

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Prabhaker,

Thanks for the additional information. Please upgrade to the latest version of Aspose.Words for Java 15.6.0 from the following link and see how it goes on your end. I hope, this helps.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to say what the problem is without the sample input/output documents and code. We need these resources to reproduce the problem on our end.

Best regards,
