Can Slides use Powerpoint Templates?

Hi, I was wondering if your Slides component that outputs SSRS reports to Powerpoint can leverage templates? We would like to identify a default template and use that template whenever a report is exported.

Thanks for your interest in Aspose.Slides.

I regret to share that at the moment feature of supporting RDL report to a PPT template is currently unavailable in Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services. An issue with ID 24930 has been created in our issue tracking system to further investigate the possibility of implementing the said functionality. This thread has also been linked with the issue so that you may be automatically notified if and when the feature is available. As a work around you may export the RDL to PPT from Aspose.Slides for RS and then use Aspose.Slides for .NET on same presentation to change the master and apply the template. Please share with us if you feel any issue.

we need to use Powerpoint Templates while exporting our RDL reports. Is this feature supported now?

Thanks for inquiring Aspose.Slides.

Our development has investigated the requirements for applying the template on generated presentation. PowerPoint template represents set of slides with predefined layout and formatting and the presentation template are applied on placeholder added in layout slides. When reports are exported using Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services they are not placeholders. So, this way the presentation template cannot be applied to exported content. It’s not obvious how to mix template layout with report layout because RDL doesn’t have concept of placeholder.

So, can you please share more details in terms of expected results from applied template and we will see whether that requirement is possible or not.
