Cells to PDF export issues

Dear all,

we are currently using Aspose.Cells for Java 8.1.0.

When upgrading to one of the later versions we are experiencing the following issues:

  • In many of our existing worksheets our logo is not exported to the PDF file.
This seems to occur only when the logo previously has been copied from one worksheet to another within Excel. If we re-insert the very same source image file (a WMF in this case) in Excel, the image is also exported to PDF by Aspose.Cells.
This problem did not occur in version 8.1.0. The following versions we tried are affected:
    • 8.1.2
    • 8.2.0
    • 8.2.1
  • With rel. 8.2.0 the border thickness of cell borders changed. Although PDF output is now closer to the original "Save as PDF" output of Excel we more liked the previous thinner border lines. Is it possible to influence the PDF output (regarding border lines) in the newer versions?

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for contacting Aspose support.

It would be of great help in isolating the problem cause if you can provide us the source spreadsheet files segregated according to the type of problems as stated in your above post along with your sample code snippet. We will review them in order to assist you further in this regard. Moreover, we have recently published the new build of Aspose.Cells for Java (Latest Version), that you may try for the aforesaid problems.

Regarding the border lines, you can control the thickness of the lines only by re-configuring all the borders in the spreadsheet (using Style objects) before rendering it to the PDF format. I am afraid, this feature is not available for PdfSaveOptions class.

Hi Babar Razar,

attached you can find a sample xlsx containing two images. One inserted into the worksheet by using the Excel image import. The other one was copied from another worksheet and pasted into this worksheet. As you can see in the resulting PDF (created with Aspose 8.1.2, but with 8.2.1 it's the same) only the first image "survived".

Best regards,
Benjamin

We have logged the problem in our bug tracking system under the ticket CELLSJAVA-41054 for further investigation. Please spare us little time to properly analyze the problem cause, and to provide a fix for it. In the meanwhile, we will keep you posted with updates in this regard.
