Chart not printed

Dear Aspose Support Team

We have the attached file Input.xlsx which has been created using Aspose Cells for Java. When trying to print the file from Aspose, the chart is not printed.
It works fine when using Microsoft XPS Document Writer, Microsoft Print to PDF and one of our physical printers. However, on our other physical printer the print-out is not OK: on the second page the title, chart and footer are not being printed, only the logo is printed.

@awepler,
We have logged this issue in our database for further investigation and will provide our feedback once any update is ready to share.

This issue is logged as:
CELLSJAVA-43284 - Chart not printed while using Aspose.Cells for a particular physical printer

You may share the printer model with us which is not working fine with this file. Also if possible you may generate similar file using MS Excel only and try its printout using the problematic physical printer. Share the feedback of this activity as well.

Thank you for your feedback so far.

The problematic printer is an HP LaserJet 600 M603, with driver HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v6.9.0).

We have generated a similar file using Excel only: Input_CreatedWithExcel.zip (279.8 KB)

We have tried printing both files from Aspose and from Excel, please find the results below:

Input.xlsx (created with Aspose):

  • printed from Aspose: not OK (issues see original post)
  • printed from Excel: OK

Input_CreatedWithExcel.xlsx (created with Excel):

  • printed from Aspose: not OK (same issues as with Input.xlsx)
  • printed from Excel: OK

@awepler,
Thank you for providing more information. We have logged it with the ticket for our reference.

Your issue should be fixed in it.

Thank you for your fix.
It works with the file given above (Input.xlsx). However, only when we first save and reopen the workbook. Creating the workbook from scratch and printing it without ever saving it, is still not working.

Also, when we change to the new logo, it is not working so well anymore. It works fine when using Microsoft XPS Document Writer, Microsoft Print to PDF and one of our physical printers. However, on our other physical printer (HP LaserJet 600 M603) the print-out is not OK: the lower part of the chart is cut off and the footer is not printed.

@awepler,

Thanks for your feedback and new sample with different print outs.

We need to evaluate your issue thoroughly. We will do it and get back to you with further updates.

@awepler,

It seems there is a bug within the interaction between the printer driver, the operating system and Java.
Please try to change the printer driver from “HP Universal Printing PCL 6” to “HP Universal Printing PS”(PostScript) and share us the printed results.

Thank you for your feedback. We changed the printer driver to HP Universal Printing PS (v7.0.0). Unfortunately, the printout still looks the same: the lower part of the chart is cut off and the footer is not printed.
