Hi,
We have come across a small issue. We created a Workbook containing a worksheet with a chart using a ListObject as a data source. We are having problems getting the chart to update when the ListObject is resized (as a result of new items added to the ListObject) using the ListObject.Resize() method. When we call the re-size method, the chart is still refering to the original range of the ListObject instead of the new range that includes the new items.
We are currently working around this issue by inserting new rows to the ListObject using Worksheet.InsertRange() instead of resizing it. When inserting new rows to the table the chart actually updates successfully. However this process takes longer to complete than calling the ListObject.Resize() method after adding new values into cells below the table. When creating smaller files this issue isn’t a big problem. However, it’s more of a problem when creating bigger files with more table rows; the time it takes to complete the process of entering data into a table, is more noticeably longer.
I have attached a small project to show the issue. I have also attached an input file with a chart referring to a table.
I have also attached two screenshots, one that shows what the chart looks like before and another that shows what was expected it will look after the ListObject is re-sized.
Hi,
Thanks for your posting and using Aspose.Cells for .NET.
We were able to observe this issue. Chart is not updated when the item is inserted in the list object. We have logged this issue in our database for investigation. We will look into it and fix the issue. Once, the issue is fixed or we have some other update for you, we will let you know asap.
This issue has been logged as CELLSNET-41886.
We have also attached the output file for a reference.
Hi,
We have evaluated your issue further. Well, it’s a complex feature and I am afraid, we cannot support it soon. There is no direct relation between the chart and the table. And, the data source of chart is split to each series, so it’s hard to get the chart data source. So, we could not find bind the chart and the table.
Thanks for your understanding!
