Hi,
We were comparing the features of Aspose.Slides for Java and Apache POI
HSLF - Busy Developers' Guide to HSLF drawing layer and
XSLF - XSLF Cookbook
and wanted to know how Aspose.Slides is better than this. If you can share some details, it will help us decide our way forward.
Thanks
@kashif.iqbal,
I have compared the PowerPoint features provided by mentioned APIs with those available in Aspose.Slides. Aspose.Slides provides a very rich feature set as compared to these APIs. If you talk about Presentation conversion, Aspose.Slides offers export to HTML, PDF, PDF Notes, TIFF, TIFF Notes, ODP, SWF, XPS, PPS, PPTX, PPT, PPSX where as the shared APIs can only save presentations and merely export the slides to images. Aspose.Slides on other hand has rich support for exporting slide to images with custom slide sizes and DPI settings to commercially available formats and also to SVG.
Aspose.Slides has rich support for working with presentation themes and rich slide cloning features and can support huge presentation decks upto management of GB of presentation files which the suggested APIs seems to lack.
Aspose.Slides provides rich support for ActiveX controls, VBA Macros, MSO Charts, Smart Art shapes, OLE Object, Tables, Embedded or Linked Audios / Videos, All AutoShapes, Connectors, Animations and Slides transitions. Where as the suggested APIs only support basic shapes management, OLE Objects and Tables support.
