Is it possible to convert a certified PDF document to PDF/A-1b? Currently there is an error message that mentions that it is not possible to do this, but is there a way to do it anyway. For legal reasons, we have to convert all documents to PDF/A-1b.

What does certified mean. Do you mean signed?
It would be nice if you attached this document.
Here is an example (see attachment).

Thank you for the provided document - I will study the issue and write to you tomorrow.

after conversion, the resulting file opens and the message “Certification … is invalid” is shown. Did you mean it?

First of all, thank you for your quick replies.
On my side, the signature is valid. For this reason, the document cannot be converted to PDF/A :
You cannot change this document because it is certified.
Is there a way to force the conversion to PDF/A anyway?
@stephane.diamond
I consulted with the development team. As they explained, there is no way to perform the conversion without corrupting the signatures/certificates. Otherwise, what’s the point of them.
You can try removing the signature/certificate, converting the document, and then reinstalling them.
Alright, I understand. Thanks for taking a moment to check.
