My process needs to compress a JPG image before uploading it.
image size is 1810 kb. When I archive the image as .rar or .zip or .tar with aspose.zip, the archive only contains 1004 KB. How can I optimize by compressing the image as much as possible?
The JPEG format is compressed, so your 1.8 compression ratio is a decent result. You can experiment with several formats, their compression methods and apply settings where applicable. Here are some settings to adjust:
- dictionary size and fast bytes for LZMA2 compression in a 7z container
- block size in a bzip2 archive.
- model order and suballocator size for PPMd compression in a ZIP container.
