We are using Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services SSRS2008 R2 V1.9.0.39, We have purchased the SITE OEM License for this product.
There are 3 issues identified below with the Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services with Excel2007 and Excel Data Only Renderers.
-
The Aspose Data Only output column width is not set to the width specified. This is happening only on Aspose Data Only Renderer / Excel2007SimpleXlsxRenderer, and the Excel XLSX render works fine with the same settings.
-
If there is a line feed / Carriage Return within a field, its causing either a special character that is shown in place of the line feed or appends them without the line feed. This is happening only on Aspose Data Only Renderer / Excel2007SimpleXlsxRenderer, but the Excel XLSX render works fine with the same settings.
-
The Field Format types are messing up the Currency values – The issues below are happening for both Excel2007XlsxRenderer and Excel2007SimpleXlsxRenderer renderers
a. When the Currency Field in the RDL is defined with formatting of C2 and when the data is zero dollar like $0 its outputting the value as $$
b. When the Currency Field in the RDL is defined with formatting of C2 and when the data is a “Positive Dollar” amount like $123 its outputting the value as $123$
c. When the Currency Value in the RDL is defined with formatting of C2 and when the data is a “Positive Dollar” amount like $123.45 its outputting the value as $123$ and on top it chopped off the cents.
d. When the Currency Field in the RDL is defined with formatting of C2 / C4 and when the data is a “Negative Dollar” amount like -$123.45 its outputting the value as ($123) which is correct but chopping off the cents
e. When the Currency Field in the RDL is defined with formatting of Currency and when the data is a “Negative Dollar” amount like -$123.45 its outputting the value as ($123.45) which is not correct and it should be ($123.45)
The expectations are based on en-US formats.
These are currently identified during our QA cycle and we need resolution ASAP as this build is moving towards PRD release coming shortly.
The attached ZIP contains the RDL which demostrates these issues, and the Excel Outputs from the same.
The configurations in RSReportServer.Config

We need these to be resolved for us to promote our recent changes with Aspose.Cells to Production.

Hi,
For 1,2:
Aspose Data Only Renderer / Excel2007SimpleXlsxRenderer only exports data and data values format and does not support to other calculations.
For 3:
We have found the issues and fixed them.
Please try the fixed version : Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services (SSRS2008R2). Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder : ${SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.
Please let us know your run result.
Thank you.
Hi Amjad,
We are not seeing the link to download the HotFix release. Can you please provide the link to download the latest release? Once downloaded we will test and confirm the item 3.
On the Item 1. The width should be handled by the Aspose. It makes it difficult for the End users to look into the data with out expanding all the columns manually. This is not related to Formatting but the size of the column width. We are not expecting any Aspose to have a fix for this one to output the data only format to have the width specified in the RDL, like in regular excel.
On the Item 2. There are no specific special formating specified here as well. But the data output by the report is altered by the Data Only renderer in this case. I understand the point that its a data only renderer, and it just gets the data part. But at the same time the data value shouldnt change without any specific formatting specified.
We are expecting the Aspose to fix the items 1 and 2 as well, either directly or based on a configuration at the Device Info level. This is critical for us to not to go through and modifiy the 100s of reports that we have.
Thanks,
Ragu...

Hi,
We have found the issues and fixed them.
Please try the fixed version: Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services (SSRS2008R2) V1.9.0.45.
Please copy Aspose.Cells.ReportingServices.dll into following folder :
${SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services}\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin.
Please let us know run result.
Thanks Shakeel for a quick response on the Items 1 and 2, we have downloaded that and tested with our Static RDL and found that its working. We will continue our testing with our existing reports.
For the Item 3, items reported to Aspose and fixed in the version 1.9.0.44 seems to be working. However when we tested that with our reports we found on additional issue.
When the Formatting is specified as "c" - lower case c, the negative data values are displayed with the minus sign at the front. For example -$123.45 was output as -$123.45, this is expected to be output as ($123.35). This is happening on Aspose Excel XLSX Renderer and Data Only Renderer.
We have noticed that "c" - lower case is working fine in the Microsoft Excel Render. And "C" - upper case is working fine in all formats of Aspose.
Can we have a fix for this and make sure the formatting works fine regardless of the case of the format, whether its a lower case of upper case C.
The Static RDL and the report outputs are attached here as Iteration 3.zip.
Thanks,
Ragu...
