CustomDocument Properties - how to force update?

HI,

I have the below code which is working and populating the document property but once the document is created you have to then right click on the doc propety and click “Update Field” for the new data to be displayed. Can this be forced in code?

doc.CustomDocumentProperties(fieldName).Value = text
