Daily API usage is very untransparent

But it should be able to see what the daily API usage is. Now the usage is very untransparent.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your inquiry. You can log in at aspose.cloud and select API History tab to check how many API calls you have made using your account. There are two filters of API calls like “API Usage log” and “Billing History” in the History tab. Please select appropriate one and apply other filters like date range and select API type e.g. words. These are a few manual steps. We have already logged a feature request to prepare REST API. It will help you to get the statistical data of your application. This task has been logged under ticket id SAASWEBCORE-523 in our issue tracking system. Your request has also been linked to this issue and you will be notified as soon as it is resolved and available for the public use. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Richard,

From the specifics of ticket id SAASWEBCORE-523 , we are going to introduce new “Client Usage API”. This new API is very important to you as it lets you know about the daily API usage. You can also automate more of your monitoring over costs. The new API contains three resources like currentPeriod, previousPeriod and Usage. I have attached the output Excel files for your reference. Please take a look.

Example 1 - logs_current.xlsx
Returns current client logs for his current payment period.
GET http://api.saaspose.com/v1.0/usage/currentPeriod

Example 2 - logs_previous.xlsx
Returns current client logs for his previous payment period.
GET http://api.saaspose.com/v1.0/usage/previousPeriod

Example 3 - logs_usage.xlsx
Returns current client logs for January 2013.
GET http://api.saaspose.com/v1.0/usage?start=2013-01-01 00:00:00&end=2013-02-01 00:00:00

Please let me know your thoughts or questions.

Shouldn’t those figures also directly be available via the Saaspose “dashboard”? I don’t am planning on integrating those statistics myself, but I’d like some better insight in the usage as I have right now.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your inquiry. You can log in at https://dashboard.aspose.cloud and select API History tab to check how many API calls you have made using your account. There are two filters of API calls like “API Usage log” and “Billing History” in the History tab. Please select appropriate one and apply other filters like date range and select API type e.g. words.

I hope, this helps. Please let me know in case of further assistance or questions.

Hi Imran, I’m aware of the fact that the API history has filters. What I actually mean is that in my opinion there should be a couple of graphs of the API usage of at least the last month.

Now I have to filter and interpret the usage figures myself. For example it is not clear when the monthly usage periods end or start, so it looks like we consume very many calls.

Are there any plans on improving the Saaspose dashboard? For example, we would apreciate a feature to download a file that has been created from the Saaspose website directly. This would help both us and you guys when we are debugging documents that do not pass the conversion.

Hi Richard,

Thank you for these details. Currently, we don’t have such mechanism. I have recorded your request in our issue tracking system. We will let you know once our development team completes its analysis. Please let me know in case of further assistance or questions.

A graph with the per-day usage would be apreciated  We would like to analyze our usage trends, so we can adapt our business based on it.

Yesterday I recieved an email with a summary of my API usage. The email stated I’ve used 75% of the calls. Is that email a new feature, or did that feature already exist?

Hi Richard,

It is to update you that an email will be sent to you once you are closer to your package limit and when your limit will be reached. For now, you can stop calling APIs when you receive an email alert about your package limit. This feature has already been implemented.

I have added this suggestion in our internal issue tracking system.

Hi Richard,

It is just to update you that I have logged these feature requests as following:

SAASWEBCORE-584 - Support downloading API Usage logs directly from Web UI dashboard
SAASWEBCORE-585 - Support API Usage graphs in the Web UI dashboard

Hi, any update on the above issues?
