Does Aspose.Finance supports XBRL 1.0 Value Assertions?

It’s not entirely clear from the documentation, and the sales staff redirected us here. We’re looking for validating XBRL documents with the value assertions from taxonomies from authorities (XBRL 1.0 Value Assertions). Is this supported by Aspose.Finance?

@thijsbrobbelatvicompanynl,

To validate XBRL file, XBRL Instances, XBRL Linkbases, and XBRL Taxonomy Schemas MUST comply with the syntax requirements imposed in XBRL specification. To validate these, the XbrlInstance class provides the Validate() method.

Could you please zip and share your sample XBRL file and sample code, we will look into it soon.

We are still in the process of choosing the XBRL library, based on pricing, and features that the paid 3rd libraries have. For that, we needed to know if Aspose.Finance has support for validating based on authorities, but from your reply, I take it does. That is very good news :slight_smile: We will request a trial/temporary license, and do a spike to see if it fits our needs.

One follow up question, from the supported file formats documentation page, we see that loading XLSX files is not supported. Is this on your roadmap perhaps, and do you have a time-line on that, if so?

Thanks!

@thijsbrobbelatvicompanynl,

XLSX support in Aspose.Finance for .NET is out of context/scope. We have a dedicated library, Aspose.Cells for .NET that supports to read/write and render Excel spreadsheets (e.g., XLS/XLSX), see the document on supported file formats by Aspose.Cells for your reference.

@thijsbrobbelatvicompanynl were you able to conclude on the library to use for XBRL use cases? If yes, can you share your insights?

@srikanta2192 We didn’t go forward with Aspose.Finance, if that’s what you mean. In our opinion, this library didn’t gave a very high confidence that it would solve our problem, and we would have enough support to help us out, in case of problems.

We’re now in contact with a company that’s dedicated to XBRL, and has more than a decade of experience with that.
