End note numbering issue with Aspose generated word document

Hi,
When we write a document using Aspose.words which contains endnotes and reopen the document and try to add a new endnote the numbering issue raised.
Endnotes need to be correctly & automatically numbered each time. Ex. after writing content to document, and saved the document. I tried to add new endnotes in MS Word, but the endnote numbering begin at “1” each time instead of applying the correct endnote number and updating the other endnote numbering as needed
Please find the attached document to this post.
Please resolve the issue ASAP.
Thanks

Hi Srini,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that Aspose.Words mimics the same behavior as MS Word does. If you insert the end-note in your document using MS Word, you will get the same output.

Please let us know if you have any more queries.

Hi tahir,

Thanks for your reply.

Please find two documents as an attachment to this post.

  1. Document Created by MS word with Endnotes
  2. Document generated by Aspose.words with Endnotes

Try to add endnote in the document(Document Created by MS word with Endnotes) it will be added correctly and there is no issue in the endnote number it will be created correctly.

But

Try to add endnote in the document(Document generated by Aspose.words with Endnotes) it will be added but there is issue in the endnote number.

The number for the endnote is not correctly generated.

Please resolve the issue and update me ASAP.

Thanks

Hi Srini,

Thanks for your inquiry. Could you please share following resources here for testing purposes?

  • If you are not using “Input Document with endnotes.docx” as input document, please share your input document.
  • Please create a standalone console application (source code without compilation errors) that helps us to generate Docx (e.g. Document generated by Aspose.words with Endnotes.docx) and attach it here for testing.

As soon as you get these pieces of information ready, we’ll start investigation into your issue and provide you more information. Thanks for your cooperation.
