Excel worksheet error in PowerPoint 2010

Howdy,

I seem to be having a problem with exporting Excel worksheets (with charts) into PowerPoint 2010 using Aspose.Cells (version released in July). When you try to double click the worksheet to enter the chart, it comes up with an error "Microsoft PowerPoint can't start the application required to open this object. An error occured and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?". I tried repairring but it doesn't do anything. I have created Excel worksheets within PowerPoint 2010 and they can access worksheet no problem.

Attached is an example of the excel worksheets. The first slide is the Aspose.Cells export and the second slide is one created in PowerPoint. We have tried Powerpoint 2002, 2003 and 2007 and they open the first slide fine, it only appears to be 2010 specific.

I hope you will be able to assist with the issue.

Kind regards,

James

Hi,

Thanks for providing us the template file.

I have logged your issue into our issue tracking system with an id: CELLSNET-18683. We will investigate if it is an issue with Aspose.Cells or something else. We will get back to you soon.

Thank you.

Hi,

After further investigation, we think it is an issue with Aspose.Slides, so I will move this thread to Aspose.Slides forum. One of developer from Slides team would look into your issue and help you soon.

Thank you.

Hi James,

I have tried to open the shared presentation in PowerPoint 2010 and I have been successfully able to open the file with no error message. I am using the trial version version of Microsoft Office 2010, available on Microsoft site. For your kind information, I have attached the screenshot as well.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello Mudassir,

The issue isn't with opening the actual file, the issue is double clicking on the Excel worksheet object on the first slide to access the datasheet. If you access the datasheet in Office 2002-2007, you are given the datasheet but in 2010, it comes up with the message I stated in my original post. The Excel worksheet in the second slide is one that was created by Powerpoint 2010, which does open so it's not a Powerpoint issue.

I hope you will be able to assist with the problem.

Regards,

James

Hi,

Is this issue is solved or not. If solved , could u please provide the solution or document for it. This became a very critical issue for us.

Hi Doney,

I have worked over the issue using Aspose.Slide for .NET 6.4.0 with code snippet shared here. It seems that issue has been fixed in new release as I have not been able to observe the issue. I am hopeful, it will also be resolved on your end. If there is still an issue, kindly share the source excel file with us so that I may try adding that as Ole frame to reproduce the issue.

Many Thanks,

Hi Mudassir,

I am attaching the file we created.

Many Thanks,

Hi Mudassir,

We are using the same flow which you have shared me in one of the previous posts. I am attaching the code snippet we use for chart creation. We use ASPOSE for .Net 2.2. If it is realated to the license please let me know.

Thanks
Doney
