We were wondering if there was a possibility of having hyperlinks within an MS Word document execute malicious code on the server its running on during a conversion routine. In other words, if there we have Word document with links (either hidden in metadata or embedded) to let’s say an an .exe file (i.e. http://www.mysite.com/bad.exe), will Aspose.Words try to follow this link during the conversion process and possibly execute the exe file? If so, is there any security setting that can prevent this from happening?
